Boys Basketball: Perham streak of routs continues

GLYNDON -- The Perham Yellowjackets capped a week of three blowout victories with an 83-48 win over Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton in Heart O' Lakes boys basketball action Thursday evening.

Led by Jordan Hein's game-high 20 points and a hot shooting night from Jake Anderson, who scored 16, the streaking Jackets cruised to victory.

Anderson was 6-9 from the field and 4-6 from behind the arc finding his stroke from downtown for his season high point total. Hein's 20 was his season-high and he added a team-high six rebounds.

Anderson was not the only Jacket shooter hot from downtown. Perham made 12 of 29 three-point baskets. Tyler Glines and Nick Bahls each sank a pair. Glines was a bucket shy of a double-double scoring eight points and dishing out 10 assists.

Perham is riding a five-game win streak moving their overall record from 5-4 on December 29 to 10-4 and 5-1 in the HOL.

The Yellowjackets led 44-29 at the break and outscored the Rebels by 20 points in the second half in a game where all 15 Perham players saw time on the floor.

Josh Nordick scored nine points. Hunter Salathe added eight to go along with six assists.

Perham enters a stretch of three tough games traveling to Battle Lake (10-2) to face an athletic Battlers squad next Tuesday.

Friday night, Jan. 25, sets up the rematch with No. 1-2A Pelican Rapids in Perham. The Vikings defeated Breckenridge on the road 63-40 Thursday to improve to 4-0 in the HOL and 9-2 overall.

The following Tuesday, Jan. 29, the Jackets host Fergus Falls (8-5). The Otters defeated Pelican Rapids by 11 points opening day.

The average scoring differential in all three Perham games this week was a margin of victory of 38.3 points. Perham defeated Frazee 60-22 on Monday and Park Rapids 69-27 Tuesday.
