Boys Basketball: Perham cruises to 61-33 victory over Pequot Lakes

PERHAM -- Eight different Yellowjackets scored in the first half as Perham put away Pequot Lakes early in a 61-33 Section 8AA victory Tuesday evening.

Perham led 15-8 before going on an 11-0 run to a 26-8 cushion. Eli Beachy scored seven of his first half leading 10 points during the stretch.

The Yellowjackets led by as much as 21 points in the first half at 31-10 before Jordan Redmond scored at the halftime buzzer for a 31-12 Perham lead at the break.

The Patriots are rebuilding in 2013 after losing nearly their entire starting lineup of recent note. The Patriots and Perham met in the Subsection final during Perham's 2011 run to the state championship.

Perham built their largest lead of the game in the waning seconds at 30 points.

The Yellowjackets made seven three pointers, three each from Jake Anderson and Eli Beachy, one from Tyler Glines.

Anderson led all scorers with 15 points. Beachy had 13 points. Perham had 10 players score in the game.

Travis Jacobson scored 12 points to lead the Patriots.

Perham improves to 17-6 overall. Pequot Lakes falls to 9-14.
