PERHAM -- The Perham Yellowjackets won their fourth straight game, a streak of blowouts, with an 85-40 victory over Sebeka Tuesday night in non-conference action.

Jake Anderson led Perham in scoring for the second straight game scoring 16 points, including four three-pointers. Five Yellowjackets scored in double figures: Sam Muer scored 14, Eli Beachy 12, Jordan Hein scored 10 points with seven rebounds; Hunter Salathe scored 10 points.

The game was close until Perham built a 12-point lead at the break up 37-25.

The Yellowjackets clamped down on defense in the second half and outscored Sebeka 48-15 in the final 18 minutes.

Perham (QRF-20-2A) improves to 18-6 with two regular season non-conference games remaining. The biggest test will come at home versus Fergus Falls (QRF-10-3A) Thursday, Feb. 28. The Jackets end the season on the road at Wadena-Deer Creek (QRF-121-2A).

During the past four games, Perham has an average margin of victory of 37 points.

Pelican Rapids (QRF-19-2A) lost to Barnesville 56-46 on the road Tuesday. The Trojans have a QRF of 60 in Class 2A tabulated February 27. The victory ties Barnesville with Pelican Rapids at 8-4 for third place in the Heart O' Lakes Conference final standings. Perham finishes the season with sole possession of second place at 9-3, behind conference champs Hawley (11-1).

The Nuggets have won 14 straight games since their only loss of the season at Perham January 8 69-67 in double overtime.

Perham and Pelican Rapids will battle down the stretch for QRF points to get the number two seed in the coming Subsection playoffs.

A victory over Class 3A Fergus Falls will likely leapfrog Perham over Pelican Rapids, while a win at Wadena-Deer Creek will provide minimal points.

Pelican Rapids (18-7) finishes the regular season Friday, March 1 at Battle Lake. The Battlers (17-5) with a Class A QRF of 43 can assure the Yellowjackets of the No. 2 playoff seed by defeating the Vikings should Perham win out.

Two more wins would give Perham its third consecutive 20-win regular season.

The Fergus Falls Otters dashed those hopes Thursday with a 66-65 victory over the Yellowjackets in Perham.

Perham finished the regular season 19-7 after a victory over the Wolverines at Wadena 87-33 on Friday.

Perham will open up the playoffs at home, Thursday, March 7 against Frazee.
