Finishing trend continues for boys HOL golf

FRAZEE — The Hawley Nuggets won their third consecutive Heart O' Lakes Conference golf meet Tuesday at Frazee Golf Club, with Perham and Barnesville finishing second and third, the same places they have also finished the first three meets of the season.

Andrew Cook shot a 36 for Medalist honors. Perham's Nick Bahls shot a 38 for second place; Cody Cook of Hawley was third with a 38. Nick Kalina (4th), Brian Butenhoff of Barnesville (5th) and Brandon Olson (6th) all shot a 40. Tiebreakers are used to determine placing, typically off the scorecard.

Hawley won the team competition by five strokes over Perham 159-154. Barnesville finished 11 strokes back with a 170.

Other Perham scores: Matt Hanson and Blake Kunza shot 41; Nate Bormann shot 47. The top four scores count for the team competition. Perham's 159 was made up of the trio in the top six, Bahls, Kalina and Olson, along with Hanson.

Hanson was the Medalist at the HOL-Pelican Rapids meet. Kalina recorded his third straight finish in the top six. Bahls had two third place finishes this season.
