ELBOW LAKE — Rachel Nelson fired a tournament low round for the third consecutive meet and Perham continued to dominate conference play winning their third straight Heart O' Lakes meet of the season at West Central Area.

Nelson fired a 38 for Medalist honors over Alexa Bekkerus of Pelican Rapids, who shot a 42. It was the second Medalist round for Nelson, after winning the season opener on her home course and tying for the top spot at Frazee on Monday. Bekkerus has been in the thick of each of the three tournaments finishing second to Nelson twice and taking Medalist honors at Frazee via tiebreaker when the duo tied with rounds of 41.

After consecutive third place finishes, Perham's Becca Huus finished in fourth place at Tipsinah Mounds in Elbow Lake with a 43. Charlotte Johnson of Pelican Rapids shot 42 to tie her teammate Bekkerus and take third place.

Barnesville's Elizabeth Aakre and Pagie Mattfeld of Hawley rounded out the top six individual scores. Those scores were not reported.

Other Perham scores: Destiny Mitchell 49, Liz Sonnenberg 51, Danielle Graham 62, Michaela Soule 65.

Mitchell's 49 and Sonnenberg's 51 were equally important in the victory as the top two golfers from Perham and Pelican Rapids finished with the Yellowjackets holding a three-point edge 81-84.

Mitchel and Sonnenberg's total of 100 doubled the team spread taking three more strokes off of the Vikings' No. 3 and No. 4 golfers who combined to card a 103.

Hawley (203) and West Central Area (208) finished third and fourth in the team competition.
