Nearly 150 golfers play in Chamber fundraiser

PERHAM — The Perham Area Chamber hosted a golf scramble at Perham Lakeside Golf Club on Friday, May 24.

Over 140 golfers on 36 teams participated on a rare nice day for golf this season.

Prizes were awarded to the top three finishing teams in both the gross and net divisions.

Team Cavanagh, made up of Bob, Charlie, Dan and Jack Cavanagh shot a low gross round of 60. The team of Kenny Nelson, Wane Caughey, Kurt Nelson and Leigh Severson also carded a 60. Tying for third with scores of 62 was the team of Terry Karkela, Paul Hunt, Nick Anderson and Pat Dolen, along witht the foursome of Glen Cook, Glen Cook, Jr., Mike Rohde and Dan Borders.

Trent Swanson, Dough Heubsch, Michele Baker and Neil Wrangham won the Net division with a score of 43.8. Jason  Braaten, Jason Bakko, Ed Adamczyk and Hans Larson finished second with a score of 47.6. Kevin Gartland, Chad Anderson, Wayne Mickelson and Steve Gerszewski were third with a score of 48.8. The golf scramble is the Chamber’s only fundraiser all year.
