Perham boys roll in Thief River Falls

The Perham Yellowjackets took command in the first half and cruised to a 63-30 victory over the Thief River Falls Prowlers in a non-conference boys basketball game in Thief River Falls on Jan. 4.

Martin LaFond led a trio of Yellowjackets in double figures with 14 points. Jenson Beachy finished with 13 points, while Josh Jeziorski added 10 points in the win. Carter Cresap and Logan Richter ended with nine points each.

The Yellowjackets were 22 of 45 from the field in the game, including 8 of 21 from the 3-point line. They forced 17 turnovers and held the Prowlers to just 22 percent shooting (10 of 44) from the field.

The Yellowjackets built up a 17 point first half lead and cruised to the 33 point road victory, outscoring the Prowlers, 29-13 in the second half.

Ean Olson led the way for the Prowlers with 10 points.

The Yellowjackets return home on Friday, Jan. 5 against Hawley at 7:30 p.m. at the Prairie Wind Middle School gymnasium.
