Jackets defense shuts down Frazee Girls

Gabby DeBoer scored a game-high 12 points and Perham’s defense stymied Frazee in a 42-26 Heart O’ Lakes Conference girls basketball contest Thursday in Frazee.

Frazee’s 26 points scored was a season-low as Perham held the Hornets to just 13 points in each half.

Frazee cashed in at the free throw line making 19 of 21 attempts (90) percent, but Perham held the Hornet offense to three field goals and a trio of threes.

DeBoer and Mesa Schultz kept a close eye on Paige Oswald and Paige Ziegler, holding the duo to 12 points.

Along with DeBoer’s 12 points, Aixa Kolofale finished with nine points, while Schultz and Lisa Meader ended with seven each.

The Yellowjackets have won four straight and are now 10-4 on the season. They return to action with a key conference contest at Glyndon when they take on the state’s second ranked team in the Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton Rebels. The Rebels are 13-0 overall, coming off a victory over Moorhead, their second of the season.
