Perham boys third at Perham Lakeside

Perham’s Charlie Rasmussen and Hawley’s Satchel Tickel posted the lowest scores during the Heart O’Lakes Conference golf event at the Perham Lakeside Golf Course on May 14 in Perham.

The tournament took place on the Oak and Maple courses in Perham with Tickel and Rasmussen coming in 2-over par with rounds of 74. Tickel earned medalist honors, winning a scorecard playoff with Rasmussen.

However, it was Barnesville maintaining its stranglehold on the standings. The Trojans finished first with a score of 321. Hawley was second at 326, while Perham came in third at 330. Pelican Rapids was fourth and Breckenridge was fifth.

Hawley’s Carter Justesen came in third with a 75, while Barnesville’s Grant Inniger came in fourth with a 75. Perham’s Marcus Belka was fifth with a 78, while Barnesville’s Charle Aakre came in with an 80.

Jett Karels finished the day with an 89 for Perham as did Dalton Honer. Leighton Rach closed out with a 93, while Philip Guck ended with a 95. Nick Shumansky finished with a 98, while Nick Baker closed with a 110.

Barnesville has a firm grip on the standings with 5 points. Hawley sits in second with 10 pionts, while Perham is third with 15 points. The Trojans are hoping to go wire-to-wire and claim the HOL Championship outright.
