Yellowjackets swim at Thief River Falls

“The boys had an excellent first dual meet in Thief River Falls,” Perham assistant coach Jensen Maiden said. “We watched a lot of great swims for early in the season and our newcomers seem to be picking up on things quickly.”

Aaron Wegscheid picked up a first place finish in the 200 freestyle. He finished with a time of two minutes and 12.28 seconds. Gavin Kehoe finished first as well in the 100 backstroke. He finished the race with a time of 1:19.40.

“All in all, we are very impressed with how the boys have started the season. We won’t compete again until Jan. 4 in Moorhead, so we have plenty of time to clean up strokes, starts and turns, as well as push their strength and endurance,” Maiden said. “We’re incredibly excited to see what we can accomplish over the next two week and we can’t wait to see the results on Jan. 4.”
