Basketball: Perham to take on Apple Valley and Tyus Jones

ST. JOSEPH, Minn. — The Perham varsity basketball team has been selected to compete in the Sweet Sixteen tournament held at St. Ben’s August 3-4.

Perham draws Class 4A State Champions Apple Valley and their Division I recruit Tyus Jones.

Jones is a top two consensus 2014 prospect and should have his pick of colleges to play for after graduation.

“If Tyus is there, expect a pretty big crowd,” Perham Head Coach Dave Cresap said.

Perham is joined in the tournament by two other area schools, Hawley and Battle Lake.

Hawley plays Dawson-Boyd, while Battle Lake takes on Grand Rapids.
