Perham kicks off basketball season ranked No. 2

In one preseason Class 2A basketball poll, Perham starts the season tonight (Nov. 26) versus Staples-Motely ranked No. 2.

The Yellowjackets and Cardinals tip off at 7:30 p.m. at Prairie Wind Middle School.

Pelican Rapids is also ranked at No. 9. Hawley, who had only two losses last season, both to Perham, did not make the initial top 10.

Esko is the top ranked team in 2A. Defending champions Minnehaha Academy is ranked No. 5. Minnehaha Academy defeated Perham (23-8) in last year's season opener and Perham's final game.

Battle Lake is ranked at No. 7 in 1A.
