Jacket wrestlers dominate at D-G-F 47-18

GLYNDON — The Perham wrestling team continued a hot start with a 47-18 blowout victory at Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton Tuesday evening.

Perham built a 20-0 lead on four straight wins to start the match with a pin by Dylan Fudge at 3:06 at 106 pounds.

Patrick Johnson won a 5-2 decision at 113; Ben Nelson won by tech fall (14-0) at 4:08 over Andrew Oberg for a 14-0 lead.

Chase Curtis put up six points pinning Trevor Dufault in the first period and Perham cruised to the win taking 10 of 14 matches.

“We thought we could be better than last year but most people wouldn't expect it,” Head Coach Robb Moser said. “The kids have really improved in the last 10 days.”

Colin Neitzke, Patrick Glynn and William Parks all scored pins in the match.

“This team has some nice balance,” said Moser. “Obviously, Colin Neitzke and William Parks will be known, but our lesser known kids have really stepped up.”

The Yellowjackets improved their duel record to 4-1. D-G-F falls to 4-2.

Perham will return home next Tuesday, Dec. 17 for a duel with Park Rapids Area (1-4). The match is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at PWMS.
