PERHAM — The Perham wrestling team picked up a pair of dual victories this week defeating No. 11AA Pequot Lakes/Pine River-Backus on Tuesday and blowing out Ottertail Central Thursday evening to improve to 18-7 overall.

Perham fell out of the Guillotine’s top 12 rankings in Class 2A for the first time all season and Pequot Lakes/Pine River-Backus appeared in their place at No. 11.

Perham allowed the Road Crew only 15 points in a 35-15 victory in which the Yellowjackets never trailed.

Trent Jahnke sealed the win with a 5:28 pin of Cadel Roeder to put Perham up 32-15.

Heavyweight Jesse Bucholz knocked off No. 7AA Jared Adkins in a 4-1 decision to put a stamp on the Perham victory.

The teams split the first two matches. Perham’s Dylan Fudge won a 3-0 decision, followed by a close 4-3 victory for the Road Crew’s Isaac Manthei over Ben Nelson at 113 to tie the score at three-all.

BATTLE LAKE — Perham had no troubles Thursday in a 65-6 rout of Ottertail Central on the road.

Perham’s lightweights got the Jackets off to a fast start on pins by Dylan Fudge, Nelson and Curtis. Sam Pirrotta won a 8-0 major decision over Sam Naddy for a 22-0 early lead.

Perham dropped only two of 14 matches.
