Strong regular season finish vaults Perham wrestlers back into 2A top 10

The Perham wrestling team (19-7) jumped back into The Guillotine's top 10 rankings in Class 2A on the back of a strong finish to the regular season and the Yellowjackets' undefeated mark agains the top Section 8AA teams.

Thief River Falls, Detroit Lakes and Pequot Lakes/Pine River-Backus all received votes in Friday's updated rankings.

Perham defeated the Prowlers in Thief River Falls Dec. 6 by a score of 40-30; Perham beat Detroit Lakes twice: at the Sertoma Tournament for fifth place Dec. 14 in Grand Forks 35-34, and at home 50-23 Jan. 17. The Yellowjackets and the Road Crew met in Perham Jan. 23 with the Jackets winning 35-15.

The Secion 8AA Team Championships will be held at Ralph Engelstad Arena in Thief River Falls Saturday, Feb. 15 at 11 a.m.

Perham will host the Section 8AA Individual Championships Feb. 21-22 at Prairie Wind Middle School.
