PERHAM — Detroit Lakes erased 4-1 Perham leads in both games of a doubleheader and the Lakers swept the Yellowjackets by scores of 10-4 and 12-5 Thursday at Arvig Park.

Chaz Butz pitched all 14 innings for the Lakers picking up victories in each game.

In the opener, Perham leadoff hitter Brittany Miller walked and tripled scoring in her first two at-bats to give Perham a 2-1 lead.

Trisha Kawlewski doubled to score Megan Leslie and Kawlewski scored on a RBI single by Allie Doll putting Perham ahead 4-1 after three innings of play.

Perham’s lead was short-lived. The Lakers took over in the fourth.

Seven consecutive Lakers scored on hits from six of seven batters, including a trio of doubles to give the Lakers a 8-4 lead.

Butz held Perham off the scoreboard the remainder of the game allowing only three more Yellowjacket hits.

Emily Schiltz and Rachael Ianiro each had three hits to lead the Lakers.

Kawlewski and Doll each had a single and a double to lead Perham at the plate.

DL 12, Perham 5

Sydney Roberts, Miller and Doll led off game two with consecutive hits and all three scored to give Perham an early 3-0 lead.

Annie Ingebrand singled and scored in the second inning and Perham led 4-0 before the Jacket bats went quiet and Detroit Lakes roared back scoring 11 of their 12 runs in the final three innings to erase the early Perham lead and turn it into a Laker blowout.

Emily Seebold had the big blast, a grand slam in the sixth inning to double up Perham on the scoreboard 8-4.

Carolyn Kinney, Kyra Vagle, Hailey Sostegard and Llecenia Burnside all scored twice for DL. Kinney, Vagle and Olson each had two hits.

Doll was the lone Jacket with a multi-hit game, a single and a double, two of Perham’s five hits.

DL improves to 7-1 overall and 5-1 in the Mid-State.

Perham falls to 4-5, 2-4 in the conference.
