Softball: Patriots sweep Perham, play for Mid-State title today

PEQUOT LAKES — Katie White picked up two wins by fanning 13 batters in 14 total innings while tagging a game-winning solo home run in the first game as the Pequot Lakes Patriots swept Perham in Thursday’s Mid-State Conference doubleheader.

Kayla Miller went 3-4 with a double and RBI for the Patriots in a 8-7 first-game win while Barb Miller added three hits, three runs, and an RBI.

Kayla Miller smacked a two-run double in the second game as the Patriots won 4-3. Pequot Lakes and Staples-Motley are tied atop the Mid-State with 10-0 records. Both teams square off today, Friday, May 16 at Staples. Perham is in fifth place at 4-8; 8-9 overall.
