Kurt Weber, a 2008 Perham High School graduate, learned how to play the piano as a child, but discovered his passion for it later in life while deployed to Kuwait as a member of the National Guard. He has recently published a book of original compositions, with an accompanying CD of him playing the music. He'll be having his debut recital at St. John's Lutheran Church in Ottertail this Saturday. Submitted photo

BroadwayWankel4 Matt Weinstein, who portrays Sgt. Stubby in the off-Broadway musical, laughs over a comment made by Capt. Athy, played by Paul Fraccalvieri, during a rehearsal. The production was previewed for a couple weeks, when it received a good response from audience members.  It premiers  Saturday, Dec. 3, when Perham’s  Larry Wankel will be in the wings watching.
