Les Gunderson has participated in Habitat for Humanity's 500 Mile Bike Ride for the last eight years. This year's ride across Minnesota is coming up on July 15. Gunderson regularly takes  part in a number of charity rides, biking thousands of miles every year and raising money for a variety of good causes.

John Reger was awarded a special plaque for working for 50 years as a bus driver for New York Mills schools. The plaque now hangs in his home office north of NY Mills.

Nickolas Listrom won a statewide poetry contest for military children with his poem entitled, "Through Him." Listrom recently took a trip to St. Paul to meet Senator Al Franken and his wife Franni Franken (pictured), as well as Major General Richard Nash.

New York Mills man Dennis Windel with his 1550 Fat Boy Harley-Davidson. Windel has ridden in many charitable motorcycle rides over the years, but none so personal as those arranged for his own family. His grandson, Andrew Emery, and their family was the source of inspiration behind the New York Mills Ronald McDonald House Ride, which has grown into the largest such ride in the world.
