A Perham mother who took her child out of the state has been denied further visitation rights, for now. That from a court hearing in Otter Tail County on Thursday. The father, Brian Cooney, will remain as the sole guardian for 6-year-old Claire. An order of protection against Miranda Cooney will stay in effect until March 24. According to Brian Cooney's lawyer, a judge said there wasn't enough time to hear testimony from both sides. The case will be heard again next week.
A Perham father is being reunited with his daughter after he says the 6-year old was taken by her mother. The little girl was found more than 1,100 miles away. Claire hasn't been to school in almost a month and it's been 46 days since Cooney last saw her. Cooney said this is the start of giving Claire her childhood back. "I'm just happy and relieved that this nightmare has come to an end," he said.
