Trinity Ann Moore, a 16-year-old girl who went missing from the Detroit Lakes area Nov. 13, has been located and is back home with her family. "We are pleased to be able to let you all know that Trinity Ann Moore has been located. She is safe, and on her way home to her family," read a Facebook statement made by Missing Children Minnesota just after 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22. "Thank you to everyone who looked for her, who called in tips, and who shared her poster!"
The White Earth Nation plans to build a casino in Otter Tail County on the shore of Star Lake, tribe spokesman Gary Padrta said Friday. The tribe, which owns the Shooting Star Casino and Hotel in Mahnomen, announced last month that it plans to construct another casino near Bagley in Clearwater County. The planned site for the casino in Otter Tail County is along Star Lake, which is between Pelican Rapids and Dent.
Clancy James Kohler, 29, of 16429 Kirch Road, Frazee has been charged in Becker County District Court with second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and two counts of felony domestic assault. According to court records, on Aug. 27 Becker County dispatch received a call from a man saying his girlfriend had violated an order for protection. Police could find no such court order.
An area man, who has yet to be arrested, is being charged with fleeing an officer, domestic assault and more. At about 7:40 a.m. Tuesday, Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence several miles southeast of Perham. While en route, deputies learned the man had physically assaulted his girlfriend.
A grandmother and 6-year-old child are safe after the mobile home they were in began sliding towards the Ottertail River in Frazee Tuesday morning. According to Frazee Police Chief Mike Johnson, authorities were called to the mobile home off the 100 block of North River Drive behind the high school just after 7 a.m. The home had shifted at least two feet off its block foundation towards the river, causing the door to jam and trapping the two inside. First responders scrambled to life flight a baby that was reportedly run over by a truck in rural Becker County this afternoon. According to Becker County dispatch, the call came in around 1:45 p.m. from a residence along County Road 133. There was no immediate report of the child's condition, but the air ambulance lifted off at 2:05 p.m. It is unknown at this time where the child is being taken. Sean Patrick Menard, 28, of 321 Shorewood Circle, Detroit Lakes, has been charged with felony escape from custody in Becker County District Court. According to court records, on Dec. 1, 2014, he was arrested and charged with second- and third-degree burglary in Becker County. He was furloughed from jail to a treatment center in Alexandria, with orders to return to jail to finish his sentence after treatment was completed. On April 1 he was discharged for unsuccessfully working the treatment program.
The second annual Winter Light Festival will take place at the gallery of the Cultural Center in New York Mills beginning at 4 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 2. A Detroit Lakes man was sentenced to 30 days in jail and 10 year supervised probation for burglarizing his parent’s house. Sean Patrick Menard, 28, was granted a stay of imposition, which means if he does not violate his probation, the felony conviction will not go on his record. Menard was convicted of felony second-degree burglary, but a felony charge of theft of a motor vehicle, as well as one misdemeanor of possessing pharmaceutical items
