Nov. 22, 1925-Feb. 15, 2008 Lothar O. Haerle 82, of Detroit Lakes, died Friday, February 15, 2008 at the Sunnyside Care Center of Lake Park. Lothar Haerle was born to Rev. Karl and Clara (Birr) Haerle on Nov. 22, 1925 in Stewart, Minn., as one of 14 children. Later in life, he moved to Detroit Lakes and worked at Field's gas station and later for his brother, as a bartender and custodian at Bunnell's Rec-reation. When his health permit-ted, Lothar enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Sept. 21, 1917-Feb. 15, 2008 Nancy R. Greminger, 90, of Detroit Lakes, died Friday, February 15, 2008 at her home, with her family at her side. Nancy Ruth Wickstrom was born to Ella Morris on Sept. 21, 1917 in Kensal, N.D. Six weeks later, she was adopted by Fred and Maud Wickstrom of Detroit Lakes. She was raised and educated in Detroit Lakes and graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1936. In 1941 she graduated from business college in Pasadena, Calif. Nancy married Lavern J. Greminger June 29, 1944 in Ren-ton, Wash. She was an accom-plished pianist and organist.
Feb. 27, 1919-Feb. 16, 2008 Mable H. Rustad, 88, of Hawley, died Saturday, February 16, 2008, in MeritCare's Palliative Care Unit, Fargo. Mable was born to William and Maria Rosell on Feb. 27, 1919 in Woodworth, N.D. She grew up and attended school in Dale, Minn. She graduated from Lake Park High School in 1935. On Sept. 3, 1948 Mable married Har-vey Rustad in the Eksjo Lutheran Church Parsonage. Mable had finished her schooling at Moorhead Teachers College and taught country school at District 16 and later District 41 until it closed.
Jan. 16, 1918-Feb. 18, 2008 Paul D. Johnston, 90, of Detroit Lakes, died Monday, February 18, 2008, at St. Mary's Regional Health Center in Detroit Lakes. Paul Duane Johnston was born to Charles and Hattie (Brennan) Johnston on Jan. 16, 1918 in Ogema, where he was raised and educated. Paul married Audrey Sauve June 28, 1941 in Terre-bonne, Minn. He served with the U. S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
Aug. 12, 1961-Feb. 17, 2008 Julie Lind, 46, of Perham, died on Sunday, February 17, 2008 in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo. Julie Renae Bachmann was born the daughter of Clair and Verna (Drevlow) Bachmann on Aug. 12, 1961 in Detroit Lakes. She was raised and attended school in Frazee, graduating from Frazee High School in 1979. She married Norman Kiphuth in De-cember 1981 at Bethlehem Lu-theran Church, Frazee. They lived in Dent and later divorced. Julie then married Robert Lind on Sept. 14, 1996 and they made their home in Perham. Julie served as the church organist at St.
May 7, 1935-Feb. 16, 2008 Eleanor M. Annette, 72, of Bemidji died Saturday, February 16, 2008 at North Country Re-gional Hospital in Bemidji. Eleanor Mae Reller was born the daughter of William Omen and Doris Reller on May 7, 1935 in White Earth. She was raised by her grandparents, George and Margaret Big Bear, in White Earth. She married William Arnold Annette in October 1953 at Detroit Lakes. For two years, they lived in Minneapolis, where she was a nursing assistant for St. Barnabus Hospital. For four years, they moved to Bagley, where she was a social worker.
Aug. 19, 1925-Feb. 10, 2008 Former Detroit Lakes resident Edna A. Foshaug, 82, of Fergus Falls died Saturday, February 9, 2008 at the Pioneer Retirement Community. Edna Alice Lofthus was born the daughter of Lewis and Mabel (Sveback) Lofthus on Aug. 19, 1925 in Fergus Falls. She was baptized and confirmed in the Trefoldighed Lutheran Church, rural Battle Lake and attended various rural schools throughout Otter Tail County. Edna and Leonard Foshaug were married in 1947, and together they had two children, LaVey and Lowell.
Aug. 9, 1930-Feb. 10, 2008 Former Jamestown resident Jack Bernabucci, 77, of Palm Springs, Calif., passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2008 at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs. Jack was born Aug. 9, 1930 in Jamestown, N.D. He attended the University of North Dakota, graduating in June 1952 with a Bachelor of Science degree in commerce. He then joined the family owned Coca-Cola Bottling Co. of Jamestown. He became president of Coca-Cola Bottling in Jamestown in 1965 and of Coca-Cola Bottling of LaCrosse, Wis., in 1970.
March 16, 1919-Feb. 13, 2008 Melvin H. Klotz, 88, of Detroit Lakes, died Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at Emmanuel Nursing Home, Detroit Lakes. Melvin H. Klotz was born to Albert and Ernestine (Kopischke) Klotz on March 16, 1919 in Morgan, Minn., where he grew up and received his education, graduating from Morgan High School. He worked at the Creamery in Morgan for a few years before entering the United States Army in 1943. He was stationed in California, where he attended the University of California-Davis, studying radio Ccmmunications.
Aug. 17, 1932-Feb. 11, 2008 Former Frazee area resident William "Bill" Derke, 75, of West Fargo, died on Monday, February 11, 2008 at his home. William Otto Derke was born the son of Albert and Ruth (Ogroske) Derke on Aug. 17, 1932 in Corliss Township, where he was raised and attended country school. Following school, he worked for Lemkuhl International Harvester in Perham. He entered the United States Army in 1954 and served during the Korean War, until receiving his honorable discharge in February 1956. Bill married Alice Palmer on Aug. 25, 1956 in St.
