LITTLE FALLS, Minn. — A woman died Monday, May 15, in a crash with a vehicle traveling the wrong way on U.S. Highway 10 near Little Falls, the driver of which was reportedly under the influence of alcohol. The Minnesota State Patrol reported the crash that killed 86-year-old Dolores Ann Mickow of Wabasha occurred at 4 p.m. Monday in Belle Prairie Township. Mickow died at the scene of the crash.
Wadena, Minn. — Shoppers got quite the surprise at the Wadena Wal-Mart when they noticied a deer perusing the aisles. The picture above has been circulating all over social media, and the Wadena Police Department confirms a deer did wander through the superstore. Authorities say it happened around 7:30 p.m., on Tuesday, May 16. A man was able to catch the deer and wrestle it to the ground by the dog food section. After some buzz in the store, the deer was brought back outside and set free.
Angie Marie Travis, 39, of Pelican Rapids, has been sentenced in Becker County District Court for felony fifth-degree controlled substance crime.
A driver swerved off Highway 10 at approximately 8:30 a.m. Friday morning in Detroit Lakes, crossing a median and Frazee Street before crashing into a room at the Budget Inn. The Detroit Lakes Police Department responded to the scene and gathered from witness accounts that the driver potentially suffered from a medical condition before swerving off the road, not surviving the crash.
A 77-year-old man was killed yesterday after a crash left him pinned between a tractor and a tree along the 28000 block of Tower Road in Detroit Lakes. The Becker County Sheriff's Office received a call concerning the crash just before 3 p.m. May 10 and responded to the scene, along with the Detroit Lakes Police Department, the Detroit Lakes Fire Department, and St. Mary's EMS.
BRAINERD, Minn. --The unvaccinated child in Crow Wing County with measles is a student at a local Catholic school, a letter to parents from the Minnesota Department of Health said Wednesday. "This letter is to inform you that measles has been diagnosed in a child who attends St. Francis of the Lakes Catholic School," the letter read. "Your child may have been exposed to measles. Measles is a very contagious disease caused by a virus."
BRAINERD, Minn. -- A child from Crow Wing County in north-central Minnesota has become part of a measles outbreak, the Minnesota Department of Health confirmed Wednesday. An agency spokesperson said one unvaccinated child from Crow Wing County contracted the disease after being exposed to it in a Hennepin County health care facility.

Christopher Lynn Kuntz, 34, of Frazee has been charged in Becker County District Court with felony first-degree criminal sexual conduct and felony first-degree attempted criminal sexual conduct.
Cory Thomas Swift, 40, of rural Frazee has been charged in Becker County District Court with felony possession of shoplifting gear and gross misdemeanor theft. According to court records, he was allegedly one of three men that shoplifted from the Detroit Lakes Walmart on Feb. 25, using bolt cutters to cut the chain on the Garden Center exit doors and then leaving with more than $500 in goods.
