BEMIDJI, Minn. -- The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office said Sunday morning that two boys missing since Saturday afternoon have been found. A text alert from the sheriff's office said "The two missing children have been found alive and are doing OK." According to the sheriff's office, searchers found the boys, ages 7 and 8, who are now being treated by emergency medical personnel.
DETROIT LAKES, Minn. – Police in Detroit Lakes have released the name of the 32-year-old man whose February death due to a heroin overdose spurred an investigation into the two men who might have been the last to see him alive. Christopher Michael Richot was new to Detroit Lakes, but had family in Grand Forks, N.D., and had spent time in Fargo, officials said. He was found Feb. 10, and the autopsy report showed he died of a heroin overdose.

ST. PAUL -- Dr. Beth S. Thompson is Minnesota's new state veterinarian. She replaces Dr. Bill Hartmann, who earlier announced his retirement for June 1. He has led the State Board of Animal Health and been state veterinarian since 2001. He has worked for the board since 1988. Thompson joined the board as a senior veterinarian in 2008 after graduating from the University of Minnesota Veterinary School in 2007 and spending a year as a swine production system veterinarian for a Minnesota company.

The two programs for homeowners are: - Homeowner's Homestead Credit Refund, you must have owned and lived in your home on Jan. 2, 2016. The refund amount is based on household income, tax filing status and property taxes paid on principal residence.
ST. PAUL -- Public Utilities Commission members would be picked by congressional district under a bill offered by Minnesota state Rep. Dan Fabian. Fabian, R-Roseau, said that the PUC deals with issues important to all of Minnesota, but commissioners often mostly come from the Twin Cities. The current system does not have residency requirements. The PUC needs "a greater regional representation," he said.
