COTTAGE GROVE, Minn - A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a water tanker truck Tuesday afternoon in Washington County, authorities said. The motorcycle and water tanker truck collided shortly after 3 p.m. at 110th Street and Nyberg Avenue, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. The intersection is west of St. Croix Trail, where crews were repaving the roadway. The identity of the victim was not released.
BARNESVILLE, Minn. – One man has been taken to the hospital after a semi and a car collided with a moose near Barnesville Wednesday morning. Minnesota State Patrol Sgt. Jesse Grabow said the crash happened on Interstate 94 near Barnesville shortly before 5 a.m. A semi hit the moose, and then a car heading in the same direction struck the animal as it was lying in the roadway. One driver was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. The moose was killed.
FERGUS FALLS, Minn. -- The murder trial of a Fergus Falls man accused of killing his nephew is scheduled to begin today with jury selection. Michael Alan Burris is accused of murdering his nephew, Scott Burris, who died from a single gunshot wound in May 2012. His, son, Michael Kyle Burris, admitted to helping his father, dispose of his cousin’s dead body in May of 2012. The 24-year-old Burris pleaded guilty in August to aiding an offender-accomplice after the fact of murder.
MOORHEAD – Authorities have identified a man whose body was found in the Red River two weeks ago. Clement Bravebull, 48, had been in the water for an unknown amount of time and did not have any identification on him when he was found near downtown Sept. 29, police said. This afternoon, police were able to reach Bravebull’s family and notify them of his death.

A Frazee man has been sentenced for felony fifth degree drug possession. Gary Wayne Merrill, 34, was sentenced in Becker County Court to 18 months in prison, with 149 days of credit for time served. According to court records, Merrill was arrested after police were called to Payless Shoes store in Detroit Lakes on May 6 after employees there became suspicious of a pickup truck outside the store containing three occupants.

RED LAKE FALLS — A Minnesota court sentenced a 24-year-old man to four years and three months in prison Tuesday after he pleaded guilty to having sexual contact with a girl between the ages of 13 and 15, according to the Red Lake County Sheriff's Office. Kyle Lucas Mazzucco, of Oklee, Minn., accepted a plea agreement in April and pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal sexual conduct in state district court in Red Lake Falls, a press release from the sheriff's office, said. EMILY, Minn. - A motorcyclist killed Sunday evening in a crash near Emily, north of Brainerd, did not have his lights on as the sun was setting, the Minnesota State Patrol said. The state patrol identified the victims as James W. Buland, 30, Elk River.
DETROIT LAKES, Minn. – Authorities continue to search for a woman who went missing near here Sunday, a Becker County Sheriff’s Office news release said. Melissa Dawn Eagleshield, 42, was last seen at 40277 County Road 126 near Island Lake and was reported missing at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday. She is 5 feet 1 inch tall and 155 pounds with light brown hair and hazel eyes.
