ELBOW LAKE, Minn. – A woman was arrested east of this western Minnesota city early Saturday after allegedly stabbing a man, causing him serious injuries. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office and Elbow Lake police received a 911 call at 12:46 a.m. from a 38-year-old man who said he had been stabbed at a remote campsite in Tipsinah Mounds Campground.
An Alexandria, Minn., couple died in a rollover north in Kansas on Thursday. The victims were Kay Dianne Pautz, 69, the driver, and her passenger, Gary Walter Pautz, 70. The accident happened at 3:55 p.m., north of McPherson, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol. Pamela Pierce, 56, of Hutchinson, Kan.,was driving a Nissan Rogue and cut in front of the Pautz’s Ford Expedition while attempting to pass it, according to the patrol.
Police are searching for two men suspected of shooting at a 7-year-old girl who was riding her bike in Williston, N.D. on Thursday. Detective David Peterson of the Williston Police Department said about 8 p.m., two men driving an older black Chevy Silverado pickup fired shots in the area where the girl was riding a bike in the 1900 block of 23rd Street West. The men fled the scene. Injuries to the girl’s right knee area were minor, he said.

St. PAUL -- More than a dozen cases of foodborne illness are being investigated by the state health department — some from people who reported eating at Minnesota Applebee’s restaurants during a four-day period in June. The Minnesota Department of Health is investigating 13 cases of a type of E. coli bacteria. The ill people don’t share obvious common threads, the department says, which indicates the illness resulted from a widely distributed food item.
The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a possible drowning following the death of a man who was pulled from Tenmile Lake Saturday night. Family members discovered the man, identified as 62-year-old Douglas Koch of Dalton, by a dock outside of his property. Koch was unresponsive and not breathing when his body was pulled from the lake.
