A rural Ogema woman accused of killing her boyfriend waived her right to a speedy trial Tuesday in Becker County District Court. Jessica Marie Kilde, 33, faces felony charges of second-degree murder and first-degree manslaughter in the death of Richard Allen Baity, 41, also of rural Ogema.
MINOT, N.D. – Police here have released the name of a toddler killed in a hit-and-run Sunday and are asking for the public’s help in identifying a pickup truck considered to be a vehicle of interest in the incident. Police say 23-month-old Zofia Kristal Pepple was struck by a black pickup going east in the 200 block of 11th Ave. SE. The pickup continued to Third Street Southeast and turned south.
DULUTH, Minn. - About 25 University of Minnesota-Duluth football players were among 50 people cited for underage drinking at a party in Duluth’s East Hillside late Sunday. Police were called to a large party at a house in the University of Minnesota Duluth area shortly before midnight Sunday, said Duluth Police Sgt. Jayme Carlson. Fifty people were cited for underage drinking, and the renter was cited for hosting the party where underage drinking occurred.
An Osage man and a New York Mills man were both injured when one Chevy Silverado rear-ended another on Highway 10 Friday afternoon near Perham. Paul E. Myllykangas, 29, of Osage and Olaf C. Hetland, 21, of New York Mills, both suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. Both men were eastbound on Highway 10.
Two Fargo residents suffered serious injuries after their vehicle hit a deer, spun out, and was hit broadside by another vehicle on I-94 in Douglas County Saturday evening. Two people from Ottertail were involved, but were not injured, in the crash, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. Clyde D. Staus, 61, and Julie K.
FERGUS FALLS, Minn. – A woman who triggered a police standoff after reporting a man threatening her with a gun in her home may have been hallucinating, a Fergus Falls police said Thursday. Witnesses who spoke with the woman before the standoff told police she “was experiencing auditory and visual hallucinations,” police said. The woman called police about 11:50 a.m. Wednesday claiming someone assaulted her child and a man was in her home with a gun.
GRAND FORKS - Three anglers and Grand Forks police officers rescued a 65-year-old woman from the Red River near downtown Thursday night.
Four people, including two children, were rescued during a night-time search Wednesday on Lower Red Lake in northern Minnesota. Using night vision goggles and an OAM AS350 helicopter, agents from U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Air and Marine responded to a call from the Red Lake (Minn.) Police Department about 2 a.m. Wednesday.
BEMIDJI, Minn. - A man is in custody after a high-speed chase Tuesday night ended with shots fired on the Red Lake Indian Reservation in northern Minnesota. Timothy Scott, 33, of Grygla, faces charges of driving while intoxicated, felony fleeing a peace officer and first-degree assault and is being held at the Beltrami County Jail in Bemidji.
ROSEAU, Minn. - Two drivers died in a head-on collision in northwest Minnesota on Tuesday, the Minnesota State Patrol said.
