Junior forward Harrison Christensen added 18 points for the Otters, who improved to 26-5 overall. Fergus Falls will play for fifth place at 4 p.m. Friday at Concordia-St. Paul. Oakley Baker dropped 22 points to lift New Richland-H-E-G to a 65-47 victory over Breckenridge in a class 2A state tournament consolation semifinal game on Thursday, March 23. Noah Christensen scored 15 points for Breckenridge. New Richland-H-E-G improves to 29-2 overall and faces Lake City in the fifth place game at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 24. Breckenridge finishes its season with a 26-4 overall record.
Class 1A Minneapolis North 93, Red Lake 46 MINNEAPOLIS — An early 27-3 run by Minneapolis North turned out to be indicative of the entire Class A boys basketball quarterfinal game, as the Polars eased away from Red Lake 93-46 on Thursday, March 23. North forced 12 first-half turnovers en route to building a 62-29 lead. A running clock was used in the second half.
BRAINERD, Minn. -- Minnesota officials have revoked the license of a home day care in Brainerd after a 3-year-old wandered away and was not reported missing for an hour. The Minnesota Department of Human Services revoked the license of Susan Caird after finding her responsible for child neglect in the incident. Caird is the owner of Krafty Kids Kare, according to the Minnesota Secretary of State.

MANKATO, Minn. -- A 4-year-old boy has died after his clothing caught on a hook at a Mankato thrift store on Saturday, Mankato police said. Around 5:40 p.m., March 18, police and medical responders were called to the Again Thrift & More store after the boy was found unresponsive in a dressing room. While a relative was using a dressing room, the 4-year-old crawled underneath another dressing room door and once inside, had his clothing get caught on a hook, police Cmdr. Daniel Schisel said.
FARGO -- Family and friends have gathered here and in Minnesota’s Otter Tail County to deal with the sudden, untimely deaths of two women who were related. The women died within days of each other -- one from a blood infection and the other after falling from a horse. Kindred, N.D., native Allison Moline, a 34-year-old mother of five, developed an infection after having kidney stone surgery.

A Frazee man who previously hoaxed two Twin Cities TV stations and was convicted of scamming Hummer owners has been sentenced In Becker County District Court on a misdemeanor charge of failing to deliver a motor vehicle title. Blake Andrew Sundvor, also known as Blake Mastin, 34, of 610 S. Lake Drive, Frazee, had a felony charge of providing false information in a motor vehicle title dismissed, along with a gross misdemeanor charge of motor vehicle excise tax fraud.
A 41-year-old Naytahwaush, Minn., man died in a rollover Tuesday at about 10:30 a.m. seven miles north of Detroit Lakes. Marvin Tibbetts Jr. was taken to Essentia-St. Mary’s Hospital in Detroit Lakes where he died. According to Becker County Sheriff Todd Glander, a witness said they saw Tibbetts Jr. lose control of 2014 Chevrolet Traverse, enter the ditch and hit an approach before to rest against a tree along County Highway 21.
