If rapid growth is any indication, the Perham Area Boys and Girls Club is a big success. The club opened its doors for the first time June 6, and its membership has already doubled. Cur-rently parented by the Detroit Lakes club, it is now in the process of being chartered. Cori Brown, who started as the club's part-time unit director in April, was up to full-time before the end of May. Two more staff members have just been added, bringing the total to seven.
October is just around the corner, and with it will come plenty of opportunities for fall fun. With Perham's Harvest Fest and Fall Flea Market coming up, along with Uncle Ray's Pumpkin Patch in New York Mills and the Pumpkin Fest in Ottertail, those seeking a little autumn entertainment need not go far to find it. Harvest Fest Perham's 6th Annual Harvest Fest will be held on Saturday, Oct. 1 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. in the downtown area.
Whether they were ready or not, area students officially went 'back to school' on Tuesday, Sept. 6. Several middle and elementary school students in Perham interviewed described their first day as 'good,' 'great,' and even 'awesome.'
