On Tuesday, MNsure announced 136,774 Minnesotans had enrolled in health insurance coverage through the state’s health insurance marketplace, exceeding its open enrollment goal. MNsure’s original goal of enrolling 135,000 Minnesotans during the 2014 open enrollment period was established at the MNsure Board of Directors meeting on October 16, 2013. As of Tuesday, MNsure had enrolled 36,176 in a Qualified Health Plan, 27,512 in MinnesotaCare and 73,086 in Medical Assistance. Monday, March 31, is the final deadline to make plan selection and payment for coverage starting May 1, 2014.
The Perham Home Run Club is hosting their spring barbecue and bingo night on Thursday, April 10 at the Prairie Wind Middle School. Grilled brats and hot dogs will be served starting at 5:30 p.m. with bingo beginning at 6:30 p.m. Additional prizes will be awarded throughout the night. The Galactic Cowboy Orchestra, a unique musical ensemble that fuses bluegrass with jazz and world music elements, will perform at the Cultural Center in New York Mills on Friday, March 21. This eclectic group is making a name for itself in the national music scene with its versatile instrumental songs featuring guitar, fiddle, bass and drums. This is a return engagement for the Galactic Cowboy Orchestra. There is a cost for tickets to the show. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
