Graveside services for William "Bud" Morganroth, age 91, of Monticello, MN, formerly of the Perham/Frazee area, will be held Saturday, June 27, 2009, beginning at 1:00 pm at St. Henry's Catholic Cemetery, Perham, MN. Loren Thalmann, age 75 of Henning, MN died on Wednesday June 17, 2009 at the Henning Golden Living Center. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Monday June 22, 2009 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Henning, MN with Pastor Randy Maland and Pastor David Cloeter officiating. Music will be provided by Doreen Salvog, organist with Rod Thalmann accompanied by Ruth Bosse, vocalist. Casket bearers are: Alan Cloutier, Mike Sanders, Rod Thalmann, Pete Thalmann, Jason Tiede, and David Sanders. Interment is in St. John's Cemetery at Ottertail, MN.
Maxine Clara Moenkedick, 73, of Perham, MN, died Thursday, June 18, 2009, at the Frazee Care Center, Frazee, MN. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 22, at 11 a.m. at St. Henry's Catholic Church, Perham, with Father Greg Paffel officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 21, from 5 - 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham. Maxine was born August 20, 1935, in Washington County, the daughter of Herman and Margaret (Chennaux) Grosskreutz.
Daniel Lyle Gleesing, 56, of Henning, MN, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2009, at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 27, at 4 p.m. in Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, with Pastor Dan Gordon officiating. Visitation will be 2 hours before the service. Dan was born March 24, 1953, at Falls Memorial Hospital to Lyle and Darlene Gleesing in International Falls, MN. He attended Greenway School District in Coleraine, MN, and graduated in 1971. He first attended Itasca Community College in Grand Rapids, MN, and then attended St.
Arlette Fay Carlson, 69, of rural Ottertail and formerly of Henning, died Saturday, June 13, 2009, at the Golden Living Center of rural Battle Lake after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on Oct. 11, 1939, the daughter of Edgar Ewald and Louise Doris (Luhning) Brutlag. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church of Ottertail where she attended Parochial School. Arlette graduated from Perham High School in 1957. She then resided in Minneapolis and was employed in the Durke Atwood Steno Pool and also in an insurance firm. On Feb.
Scott Patrick Robertson, 40, of Perham, MN, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 12, 2009. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 16, at 11 a.m. at St. Henry's Catholic Church, Perham, with Father Joe Herzing officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Ottertail, MN. Marvin Johnson, 77, of Spokane, WA, died on June 1, 2009 from complications of bone cancer. He is survived by three children, Marsha Bown (married to Chuck Bown) of Chandler, AZ, Kim Hopkins (married to Dale Hopkins) of Spokane, and Stephen Johnson (married to Diane McCloud-Johnson), of Larkspur, CO. Grandchildren are Michelle Giddings, Aaron Trainor, Matthew Trainor, Mandi Hopkins, Sarah Hopkins, Stephanie Hopkins, Casey Johnson and Travis Johnson. Marvin also has two great-grandchildren, Isaac and Signe Giddings.
Richard M. Longfors, 83, rural Osage, MN, died Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at his residence under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Richard was born on September 19, 1925 in Chisholm, MN to Arvid and Anne Antilla Longfors. In 1930 they moved to rural Osage, MN. He attended District 82 Country School and later graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1943. He then served in the United States Army during WWII, stationed in the Phillipines and Europe. On July 20, 1947 he was united in marriage to Irene Racer in Osage.
Funeral services will be held for Violet Bentilla of New York Mills, MN on Saturday, June 13 at 2 p.m. at the Apostolic Lutheran Church in New York Mills with Pastor Don Salo officiating. The music will be provided by the congregation, accompanied by Janet Tumberg. Special music will be provided by Andy and Janet Tumberg. Funeral services were held for Jerry Bentley of New York Mills, MN on Thursday, June 11 at the Apostolic Lutheran Church in New York Mills with Pastor Don Salo officiating. The music was provided by Andy and Janet Tumberg and the hymns were sung by the congregation. The pallbearers were David Mann, Eric Enger, Joel Jacobs, Jerry Anderson, Robert Anderson and Clarence Anderson. Military honors were provided by the Charles D. Center V.F.W.
