PERHAM — The Yellowjackets pulled into a first place tie with Park Rapids at 9-1 in the Mid-State Conference with a sweep of Wadena-Deer Creek Tuesday at Krueger Field. Perham pounded out 13 hits and rallied from 4-2 down with a run in the fifth and a pair in the sixth for a 5-4 win in the opener. Austin Erickson was a perfect 4-4 at the plate and swiped two bags and scored a run. Erickson leads the team with five steals this season.
PERHAM — A three-run sixth inning broke up a tie ballgame and Perham defeated Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton 5-2 in non-conference baseball action Friday. Dylan Kruzel had the game-winning hit scoring Josh Still to start off the sixth inning rally. The game-winner was Kruzel's only hit of the game. Joe Solberg was 3-3 at the plate. Jaden Meyer was 2-4 with two RBI, both coming in the sixth inning also. Jake Lueders got the pitching victory in relief of Josh Still. Still allowed two runs, one earned, on six hits.
PELICAN RAPIDS — The Perham baseball team held off a late Vikings' rally to win 5-4 in non-conference action Tuesday. Perham built a 4-0 lead and held on to it into the sixth inning behind the pitching of Alec Meyer. The Vikings got to Meyer for three in the sixth and chased the Perham starter. Meyer allowed three earned runs on four hits, walked three and fanned nine.

BRECKENRIDGE — The Perham boys golf team snapped a Hawley winning streak that stretched all the way back to the entire 2013 season with a one-stroke victory at HOL-Breckenridge Thursday. Eric Huus led Perham with a runner-up score of 41. Hawley's Nick Carpenter won the meet with a 38. Blake Kunza and Ben Belson cracked the top six individual scores. Kunza shot 41 for fourth place. Nelson was a stroke back in sixth with a 42.
WADENA — The Perham girls golf team placed third at the Wadena-Deer Creek Invitational May 1. Becca Huus led the Yellowjackets firing a sixth-place overall individual score of 89. Bemidji's Morgan Williams won the meet as the only golfer to shoot under 80 with a 77. Maggie Heggerston of Pequot Lakes was the runner-up with a score of 81.
DETROIT LAKES — The Perham boys track team won the Section 8AA True Team track meet Tuesday and will compete in the State True Team meet in Stillwater Saturday, May 17 at 3 p.m. Perham outscored Ottertail Central 470.5 - 460.0 to win the meet behind a sweep of the 1,600m and 3,200m races by senior Keeghan Hurley.

PERHAM — Detroit Lakes erased 4-1 Perham leads in both games of a doubleheader and the Lakers swept the Yellowjackets by scores of 10-4 and 12-5 Thursday at Arvig Park. Chaz Butz pitched all 14 innings for the Lakers picking up victories in each game.
