PEQUOT LAKES — Katie White picked up two wins by fanning 13 batters in 14 total innings while tagging a game-winning solo home run in the first game as the Pequot Lakes Patriots swept Perham in Thursday’s Mid-State Conference doubleheader. Kayla Miller went 3-4 with a double and RBI for the Patriots in a 8-7 first-game win while Barb Miller added three hits, three runs, and an RBI. Kayla Miller smacked a two-run double in the second game as the Patriots won 4-3. Pequot Lakes and Staples-Motley are tied atop the Mid-State with 10-0 records.

PERHAM — The No. 9-AA Yellowjackets (14-1, 11-1) swept Pequot Lakes in Perham’s final conference games of the season as Josh Still and CJ Mulcahy pitched complete game, three-hit shutouts to earn at least a share of the Mid-State Conference title. The championship is the second in three years for Perham and the pair of wins make 12 straight for a relaxed and streaking ball club. FRAZEE — The Perham boys track team cruised to the Heart O’ Lakes Conference title behind seven HOL championship performances and the girls team finished runners-up to Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton. Lizzie Fudge won the 1,600m run in a time of 5:40.02 for the girls lone conference champ. On the boys side, the distance runs were intrateam competitions. Keeghan Hurley won the 800m run, finishing four seconds in front of teammate Billy Beseman.
PERHAM — The Yellowjackets pulled into a first place tie with Park Rapids at 9-1 in the Mid-State Conference with a sweep of Wadena-Deer Creek Tuesday at Krueger Field. Perham pounded out 13 hits and rallied from 4-2 down with a run in the fifth and a pair in the sixth for a 5-4 win in the opener. Austin Erickson was a perfect 4-4 at the plate and swiped two bags and scored a run. Erickson leads the team with five steals this season.
PERHAM — A three-run sixth inning broke up a tie ballgame and Perham defeated Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton 5-2 in non-conference baseball action Friday. Dylan Kruzel had the game-winning hit scoring Josh Still to start off the sixth inning rally. The game-winner was Kruzel's only hit of the game. Joe Solberg was 3-3 at the plate. Jaden Meyer was 2-4 with two RBI, both coming in the sixth inning also. Jake Lueders got the pitching victory in relief of Josh Still. Still allowed two runs, one earned, on six hits.
PELICAN RAPIDS — The Perham baseball team held off a late Vikings' rally to win 5-4 in non-conference action Tuesday. Perham built a 4-0 lead and held on to it into the sixth inning behind the pitching of Alec Meyer. The Vikings got to Meyer for three in the sixth and chased the Perham starter. Meyer allowed three earned runs on four hits, walked three and fanned nine.

BRECKENRIDGE — The Perham boys golf team snapped a Hawley winning streak that stretched all the way back to the entire 2013 season with a one-stroke victory at HOL-Breckenridge Thursday. Eric Huus led Perham with a runner-up score of 41. Hawley's Nick Carpenter won the meet with a 38. Blake Kunza and Ben Belson cracked the top six individual scores. Kunza shot 41 for fourth place.
