Boys basketball: Perham adds another top-10 win

Recap of Perham's 1-1 weekend against Pelican Rapids and Esko.

The Perham boys basketball team went 1-1 on the weekend against a pair of good Class AA teams.

After a 64-34 loss to Pelican Rapids (6-3) in a Section 8-2A battle, the seventh-ranked Yellowjackets (6-2) rebounded with a win over No. 10 Esko (9-2), according to MN Basketball News.

Soren Anderson led the way on Saturday with a double-double. He scored 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the Yellowjackets’ 12-point win over the Eskimos. Micah Thompson also had 12 points, while Alex Ohm had 16 off the bench. Esko’s Mason Perich had a game-high 28 points in the loss.

Thompson and Anderson were the only Perham players in double digits on Friday night against the Vikings. Thompson had a team-high 15 points, while Anderson scored 12.

Perham hosts Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton on Thursday night at The Hive.
