The first hour Dollar General is open, 8-9 a.m., is now dedicated solely for senior customers, according to a news release.
The time was chosen because of the coronavirus outbreak and the increased risk to seniors. At the early hour, customers can more safely purchase the items they need and want at the start of the day, avoiding busy and crowded hours, the release said.
Dollar General stores will also be closing an hour earlier to give employees more time to clean and stock shelves, according to the release, and to help with their individual health and well-being.
The Frazee and New York Mills stores now close at 9 p.m. but the Ottertail location is still closing at 10 p.m. A full list of locations and their hours is available at http://www2.dollargeneral.com/About-Us/pages/storelocator.aspx.
