Darla Berry, of New York Mills, has earned the designation of Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC), which is awarded by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC), Inc.

The designation is only awarded to those who complete demanding education requirements, and who have a record of significant contributions to their local government, community, and state.

Founded in 1947, and currently holding 10,300 members internationally, the mission of the IIMC is to enhance the education opportunities and professional development of its diverse membership.

Sharon Cassler, IIMC President, noted that lifelong learning is not only desirable, but also necessary in all local government positions to keep pace with growing demands and needs of citizens.

NY Mills can take immense pride in Berry's educational accomplishments, as well as her achievement of being a Certified Municipal Clerk, she noted.
