Nestled inside the United Community Insurance building next to Lakes Café, a new boutique called P.S. I Love You opened its doors last week in Perham.
A family operation co-owned by mother Roxanne Harthan and daughter Laura Host, P.S. I Love You offers a variety of merchandise from eight different vendors, with more vendors in the works.
A myriad of items line the walls and shelves of this little shop, offering something for everyone. Fishing lures, hair accessories, custom jewelry, purses, hats, essential oils and vintage items all have one thing in common in this boutique - an affordable price, Harthan said in an interview last week.
P.S. I Love You's niche is. "There are 500 items that are only $5," Host said.
The business began with a request from a Mary Kay director, Harthan said.

The mother-daughter duo also operates Pink Sisters, a virtual administrative support company exclusively for Mary Kay directors. Pink Sisters handles phone calls, newsletters, mailings and all paperwork on behalf of the directors they represent. One such director wanted another service - affordable accessories they could offer as prizes.
Upon searching for items for the gift service part of their operation, Host and Harthan decided to branch off their virtual Pink Sisters business and offer† their findings to the public, as well. In fact, Pink Sisters is what the P.S. in the company name stands for, Harthan said.
"We have a talented group of friends," Host said, explaining that she and her mother wanted to offer a Main Street retail location for their friends' and families' unique merchandise.
Daughter and sister Jennifer Thompson has already moved some of her merchandise into the boutique. Thompson owns The Mouse in the Corner Shop and holds monthly sales out of her garage in New York Mills.
Even Dad is in on the business. Doug Harthan owns Front 20 Outfitters, LLC and has a section of the boutique displaying fly fishing items. He also offers free weekly casting and fly tying classes.
P.S. I Love You is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and is open late on Thursday nights.
