American flags, 2,977 of them, have been placed on the lawn in front of Staebler Financial Group in Perham, as a tribute to those who died in the attack on the Twin Towers in New York City on Sept. 11, 2001.

Each of the 2,977 flags represents one of those who died in the terrorist attacks that day, Betty Staebler said. She said that the Financial Group has been putting out the flags as a tribute since 2005.

According to John Staebler, founder of Staebler Financial Group, the flags were put out in the evening on Sept. 10 and would remain out until evening on Sept. 11.
