The Heart O’Lakes Harmony Men’s Chorus will once again bring its spring show to the stage of Detroit Lakes’ Historic Holmes Theatre this Saturday, April 12 at 7:30 p.m.
This year’s show, “Halo and Good Buy – An Old Time Tent Revival” is a hilarious yet completely respectful parody of an old fashioned tent meeting complete with well-known gospel music that has been popular for years.
Up tempo, toe tapping, knee slapping songs that filled churches and thrilled audiences in the past are presented in tight, high-energy, four part, a capella harmony.
The local 46-member mens’ chorus will have more than three dozen voices in one chorus and in several small groups to bring you such classics as: “When The Saints Go Marching In,” “Feelin’ Fine,” “Turn Your Radio On,” “I’ll Fly Away,” “Mississippi Squirrel Revival,” “Daddy Sang Bass,” “Everybody Wants To Go To Heaven,” “Run To The City Of Refuge” and several others.
The featured act is the famous Peter Benson and his Benson Family Singers – a multitalented family that is well known in the upper Midwest for their inspirational gospel music, their a capella Barbershop musical style and their instrumental talent.
