Businesses team to help Wade Salo's cancer fight

Both The Nest and Goose Gang are donating some of their proceeds on Friday, Nov. 22, to benefit Wade Salo and his family.

During his senior year at New York Mills High School, Wade Salo was diagnosed with testicular cancer. After going through multiple rounds of chemotherapy and several surgeries, Salo beat his cancer.

For 10 years, he was cancer-free. But now it's come back.

He's already had two surgeries, four rounds of chemo and a stem cell transplant at the Mayo Clinic, according to a news release. Currently, he has regular chemo treatments at the Roger Maris Cancer Center in Fargo.

To help his family with the expense of the cancer treatment, The Nest is donating all of their coffee shop proceeds and tips to his family. Goose Gang is donating all of their popcorn sales and tips.

The drink menu and a pre-order sheet can be found on The Nest's website. Any orders larger than 10 drinks must be placed by 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21. The Goose Gang also has their menu up on their Facebook page.
