The Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office will be hosting its annual Citizens Academy Oct. 5 - Nov. 30.
Sessions will be held Wednesday evenings. The academy will consist of eight sessions ranging from 2.5 to 3 hours long. Each session will have representatives presenting from various departments and specialty units.
The sheriff's department is committed to working with citizens to create a quality of life in Otter Tail County that residents can be proud of.
To do this effectively, it is important for citizens to understand the policies, procedures and protocol of the sheriff's department as well as what it is like to be one of the men and women sworn to protect and serve county residents. It is equally important for the sheriff's department to learn about the concerns and needs of the citizens they serve.
The citizens academy is an opportunity for those things to happen.
