The City of Perham is considering applying for home improvement funds to assist homeowners in making needed repairs, and hopes residents will complete a survey.
The survey will be included with the July utility billing, according to a news release. This survey will assist the City in identifying if there is enough need demonstrated to be competitive for the about the Small Cities Development Program funding.
Funds can be used for furnaces, wiring, plumbing, roofing, windows, doors, siding, accessibility, etc. Homes must have improvement needs beyond basic maintenance items, as the funds cannot be used for "remodeling," according to the release. Competitive bidding is required on all rehab projects.
