Credit union's Foundation makes donations to local non-profits

The Central Minnesota Credit Union’s Foundation donated a total of $5,000 to local non-profits.

Foundation board member Gary Meyer said, the Central Minnesota Credit Union’s Foundation was founded in 2014 and makes donations to a variety of non-profits, schools, emergency service departments, and other organizations each year. He said, “We try to do different things, not the same all the time.”

Meyer said the Foundation has donated $20,000 in 2020.

Perham’s Central Minnesota Credit Union Branch Manager Shiloh Cariveau said donations of $2,500 were being made to both Kinship , Perham, and Empowering Kids . Both donations were presented to the non-profits at the Perham branch on Nov. 10, and will be used to help cover general expenses.

Kinship is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to build the community through the power of mentoring by pairing children, ages 5-17, with adult mentors.

Empowering Kids is a local non-profit providing affordable programming for individuals with autism and their families.
