Cub Scout Pack 321, chartered by the Perham Rotary Club, will be accepting kids into their program during their fall sign-up meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 14, at the Perham Center for the Arts (formerly St. Stanislaus Church) at 101 Fifth St NE in Perham at 6:30 pm.
Cub Scouting is a neighborhood-centered program designed for kids grades K-5. It combines fun with educational activities and lifelong values to teach youth to be self-reliant, dependable and caring individuals. The values-based program helps strengthen character, develops good citizenship and enhances both mental and physical fitness. Additionally, the program provides youth with positive peer groups and tools to shape their future.
This year’s join night theme is “flying high-hooked on Scouting.” At the sign-up night, kids will be given information on an egg drop, but instead of packing an egg and dropping from a building or ladder, Cub Scouts will have their egg dropped from a helicopter circling high overhead near the Perham Arvig Park softball fields. New members will also receive a voucher for a new fishing rod and reel.
The Sept. 14 meeting will provide information on meeting times, program cost, uniform, activities and camps. A parent is required to attend in order to complete the youth application. Youth do not need to have prior Cub Scout involvement. Additional information is available by calling Cub Scout Den Leader Gordy Przybylski at 317-946-7007.
