Maplewood State Park to host local, live talent June 17

Jeff Johnson, a former resident of Pelican Rapids and owner of the former Johnson's Furniture in Pelican Rapids, will be returning to Maplewood State Park to share his vocal talents along with the guitar and some stories of Maplewood. He will be performing Saturday, June 17 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Josh Hanson Memorial Picnic Shelter. He will perform a variety of music including some love songs of the 70s and 80s by John Denver and James Taylor. Johnson has written some songs about people from Pelican Rapids that he will add to his performance.

No charge for the event although park entrance fees are required.

This is the first of three Music at Maplewood events this summer. The other two events will be:

Lee Brenna and Casey Perrin, gospel music - July 29

Ordinary Folk, old time mountain music - Aug. 26
