The New York Mills Regional Cultural Center is pleased to present a Headstones and Art Workshop outdoors this Saturday, October 10, from 10 a.m. to noon at Greenwood Cemetery in New York Mills, according to a news release from the New York Mills Regional Cultural Center.
This workshop will be about the symbolism found on headstones. Cultural Center Programs Director Cheryl Bannes will present information on the meanings behind the decorations found on headstones. Particpants will then learn about doing rubbings on the stones then spend some time doing headstone rubbings.
The event will be outdoors, so dressing appropriately for the weather is advised. The class will be postponed if there is heavy rain or snow. The event will be following COVID-19 guidelines. Anyone with COVID-19 symptoms; cough, fever, shortness of breath, etc., should not attend.
The class will be limited to 12 people, the minimum must also be met in order to hold the workshop. All supplies will be provided. The cost to participate is $10 per person. Pre-registration required; please call 218-385-3339 or email firstname.lastname@example.org with questions.
