Prom is on for this year with Perham High School. Principal Ehren Zimmerman says the event will be in-person, and he has his fingers crossed for nothing to change. The prom's theme is "A Night in Paris," and it's scheduled the evening of Saturday, April 24.

Perham High School will be livestreaming the event with Magnitude Sports, who they're contracted with. Links to the stream can be found on Facebook and a pop-up on the website.

According to Zimmerman, this livestream was created for students who couldn't go to prom either because of the pandemic or because they're too young. Prom is open for juniors and seniors. Sophomores and freshmen can only attend if invited by a junior or senior.

The event will be following COVID-19 guidelines. Masks will be required unless attendees are eating. Social distancing will be practiced.

At 6:30 p.m., the Perham High School doors will open for students. At 7 p.m., the grand march and coronation will take place. At 8 p.m., spectators can meet students outside for a farewell procession. After this, the Perham Lakeside Golf Club's doors will open for hors d'oeuvres, refreshments, games, a photo booth and the dance. At 1:30 a.m., there will be a hypnotist. At 2:30 a.m., prizes are awarded, and the dance will end.
