While Perham wasn't able to hold in-person turtle races throughout 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the races are now back in town for 2021.

They started on the afternoon of Wednesday, June 2, and they'll continue every Wednesday throughout August with an extra one on Friday, June 18 during Turtle Fest.

Registration for the races starts at 10 a.m. The races themselves start at 10:30 a.m.

Visitors all the way from Nebraska were at the first races, cheering on their turtles as they raced to the finish line. Perham residents were also there to enjoy this year's races.
