United Way of Otter Tail and Wadena counties invites the community to help Stuff the Bus for the 2021-22 school year.

For many families, purchasing school supplies for the start of the school year can be a challenge. Every year, Stuff the Bus helps Otter Tail County kids who may otherwise go without by providing backpacks and basic school supplies and materials, according to a United Way press release.

The big yellow bus will be in front of the Perham Area Community Center on Tuesday, Aug. 3 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Come donate, meet the United Way staff and partners and help Stuff the Bus. Donations can also be made during the county-wide Stuff the Bus campaign.

The top needed school supplies are: pencils, pens, erasers, washable markers, color pencils, spiral notebooks, high lighters, crayons, two-pocket folders, glues sticks/bottles, scissors, calculators, pencil bags/boxes and hand sanitizer.

If you or someone you know is in need and would like to apply for school supplies, an application is available on the United Way website. Applications are due Aug. 6.
