Families interest in owning homes can reach out to Habitat for Humanity

Fergus Falls Area Habitat for Humanity is seeking interested families for its 2020 Homeownership Program. Applications for the program open Feb. 15 and close March 30, according to a news release.

The pre-application process involved applicants showing demonstrated need for affordable housing. Applicants also must have the ability to purchase a home, according to the release. This requires an income that falls within 30-60% of an Otter Tail County family of four median income of $21,700-$42,300.

Applicants must show a willingness to "partner" with the affiliate. Partnership requires each adult to contribute 100 hours of "sweat equity" into the home building process.
