Scares, sweets and trick-or-treats! Halloween is fast approaching, and the Perham area is celebrating with everything from pet-friendly parties to Trunk or Treat candy giveaways.
HOWLoween PAWty: October Yappy Hour
Thursday, Oct. 28 from 6–8 p.m. at Perham's 1894, located at 150 Sixth Avenue SW. The restaurant will host its first-ever costume contest and offer treats for dogs along with drink specials for people.
History Hauntings: Creepy Tails from Otter Tail County
Friday, Oct. 29 at 8 p.m. online, the Otter Tail County Historical Society will host a private show on YouTube, "History Hauntings: Creepy Tales from Otter Tail County." These true, scary stories are taken directly from local historical accounts. Admission is $10. 1894 Halloween Party with Rick Adams
Saturday, Oct. 30 from 7–10 p.m., musician Rick Adams will be playing at Perham's 1894 restaurant. Go in costume for a free song and a chance at other prizes.

Trunks for Treats and more in Ottertail
Sunday, Oct. 31, at the Thumper Pond parking lot in Ottertail from noon to 2 p.m. and from 4:30–6:30 p.m. in the Ottertail Community Center parking lot, located at 93 Lake Avenue. Four $25 gift certificates will be given to the best-decorated trunks at the Community Center location, and there will be a hayride to the Halloween House for treats. Ottertail Bakery is hosting pumpkin decorating in the Community Center, and cookie decorating will be in the Fire Hall.
Trunk or Treat in Perham
Sunday, Oct. 31 from 4–5:30 p.m. at United Community Bank, located at 301 W. Main Street. An annual family-friendly trick-or-treating event out of the trunks of vehicles, parked in the Perham bank's parking lot. Candy, cocoa and photo opportunities will be available.
Trick or Treat Parade in Frazee
Sunday, Oct. 31 at 4 p.m., the United Community Bank in Frazee will host a Halloween parade through downtown Frazee. Attendees will be able to enjoy family-friendly celebrations and treats.
